Quiz Nights It was reported that the flier for the next Quiz Night quoted a price of £2 per person, instead of £4 per team as at previous Quiz Nights. Some of the regular quiz-goers were unhappy that the change had not been announced at the last Quiz Night. It was agreed to leave the price as quoted on the flier, but to include £1 worth of raffle tickets in the price, for this Quiz Night only. It was decided not to include "Take Your Pick" in the next Quiz Night, but it would be included on 2 March.

BB offered to be MC for Take Your Pick, or any other events, if he was free.

The following are the remaining dates for the Quiz Nights for this season:

19 January, 2 March, 20 April.

JB to make arrangements for each event.

JB to take the contact details of the winners on the night.

Auction Dinner BB said that the football club was happy for the Fundraising Group to organise the event, in view of the success last year. However, it was decided that time was too short to arrange the event for 15 February, and it was decided to postpone it to 19 April. This date is OK with Jonathan Reynolds. After discussion it was agreed that the price would be £30 per person, including a two-course meal. The Football Club would arrange a speaker.

We would write to all Premiership Clubs to ask for donations for the auction.

BB to arrange a speaker for the event.

BB would ask Matt Wilde to send WB the addresses of the Premiership Clubs.

WB to ask Rachel Roberts to draft a letter to the Clubs, which WB would then put onto the football club’s letterhead.

Line of Coins Discussion took place on the exact nature of the event and whether it could take place in the stadium.

It was suggested that the coins should be laid on paper, as it was easier to collect them afterwards.

It was reported that Barclays Bank match whatever is raised for charity in this kind of event, up to a total of £750.

It was suggested that bets of 50 pence each could be taken on how much money would be in the Line.

WB reported that Thomas Cook do accept foreign coins, but only for their own nominated charity, Great Ormond Street Hospital. It was agreed to have a collection box for this purpose and pass any coins collected to Thomas Cook.

DB to ask Rachel Roberts to speak to the Safety Officer about what would be allowed.

Sponsored Parachute Jump There is an airfield near Brackley which charges £200, and all sponsorship can be retained. The tandem jump (with an expert) requires shorter training and was therefore considered to be preferable. There are age, weight and health restrictions.

The date (next spring) would be confirmed, with a 2-month lead up to the event.

A volunteer had come forward to do the jump. As he is over 16 but under 18, he will need his parents’ permission to do the jump.

A discussion took place as to who was responsible for the £200 (£50 payable on booking), should the jump not go ahead.

After discussion, it was decided that the project was not viable.

DB to ask Jason for contact details of the younger volunteer to let him know the decision. Darren Bolland 16 January

‘Buy a Brick’ Campaign A suggestion had been received that we should re-introduce the scheme for fans to buy inscribed bricks for the Diamond walkway. As only a small amount of interest had been shown by fans, it was suggested that we investigate brass plaques as an alternative. JS to investigate with Rutherfords the cost of the plaques and the fitting. John Souster 16 January
Bucket Collection It was reported that £244 had been raised by the collection at the F A Trophy match.
Fun Day BB stated that before agreeing to the event, the Football Club would need to define the costs involved in staging it.

Ideas for the event were discussed. The suggestion was to hold a fun event on the day of the last home match of the season (21 April). It would centre around a "Human Table Football" tournament, with the equipment to be hired for the day. We would invite local adult and children’s football teams to take part, and offer them a deal to include the tournament and the match. The main part of the tournament would take place in the morning, with the semi-finals and final after the match. Food would be provided after the match.

The following could also take place during the morning:

Stadium tours

Face painting (Diamond Minors?)

Football game

Fun Fair

BB to discuss with Keith Cousins and notify the committee of the result.

KG to obtain quotations for the hire of the Table Football equipment from Madhouse.

JS to obtain contact details of children’s football teams.

BB to price the deal for the tournament participants.
