1. Q. Does the
Trust still exist? A. Yes
2. Q. Am I still a member? A. Yes, your
membership remains in place.
3. Q. Will I still have to pay £15 to be a member of the
Trust or will the price rise? A. The £15 fee has
been in place for the first two years. We will review the
fee for next year nearer the time.
4. Q. What will happen to the money from the Trust
supporters? A. As at present the funds generated by the
supporters through the Trust are used to run the Trust
and will be allocated to projects to support the club or
fans.
5. Q. What role do you see the Trust playing, if any and
will we still need the volunteers? A. The Trust will
continue to operate in the future to support the Football
Club. In terms of the excellent work done by the
volunteers Keith has made it clear from the outset that
he very much supports their role and wants to see that
continue.
6. Q. What does this mean for the future level of
influence of the Trust in the management of the Club
going forward? A. The Trust will nominate two directors
onto the football club executive committee. We have
agreed not to appoint directors to the FC board because
this puts those people in a personally impossible
position with regard to taking responsibility for a
company losing a lot of money. For the same reason we
have decided that we do not want membership of the FC.
7. Q. As an investor in the Trust, do I not receive a
share of the purchase price? A. No. The real situation is that
Keith is investing money into the football club and
taking responsibility for the operating losses. In any
event, the Trust rules prevent such a distribution to its
members.
8. Q. What happens if a new owner brings in a partner of
whom the fans or FC Board Trust representatives - for
some reason - do not approve? A. At the end of
the day Keith will be able to work with whoever he sees
fit. However, the club board is obliged to make decisions
that are in the best interests of all the owners. Under
the agreement we have reached this includes the Trust as
owners of part of the club.
9. Q. In the new situation what will be the role of the
Trust and its elected Board? A. The Trust will remain in place
and will continue to raise funds for the club; it will
also nominate two directors to the football club
executive committee. The current Trust Board members have
been elected for a three-year period and will remain in
position.
10. Q. Will there be a discount on season tickets for
Trust members? A. The football club will confirm any
discount for Trust members next year when prices are set
for next season.
11. Q. What would have happened without Keiths
investment? A. It is almost inevitable that the club
would enter administration because the costs are too high
in relation to the income. This could lead to the
transfer of the club to alternative parties where the
Trust would have no influence in the ongoing running of
the club.
12. Q.I understand that when the club transferred to the
Trust the Griggs group put a clause in the contract
protecting football at Nene Park; is this still in place?
A. The
clause still exists subject to negotiation. It should be
pointed out that there are some conflicting issues over
the clause and in its current form it does restrict the
clubs ability to generate additional funds from the
assets. As part of the deal the Trust has done with Keith
the club is guaranteed the right to play at Nene Park for
as long as it is appropriate to do so.
13. Q. What happens to Helen Thompson? A. Helen will
resign as a director of the football club board, along
with her fellow directors.
14. Q. Will Max Griggs remain as Life President? A. Yes, it is
expected he will choose to continue in his role as a
fitting tribute to his vision.
15. Q. Why have the ET and BBC been quoting people close
to the club and getting their facts so wrong? A. Often at times
like this the press and media are passed information from
people who do not have the facts. Sometimes this
information becomes translated into facts and exclusives
the more they guess the better the chances they
have of being near the truth!
Keith
Cousins
1. Q. How much has he invested? A. Keith has
invested substantial funds into the club. However, this
club is and will remain in a serious financial position
and it will only be through a great deal of hard work by
all parties that will ensure the club maintains the
standards that this club so deserves.
2. Q. What plans does he have for the football club? A. To work towards
a return to The Football League.
3. Q. What plans does he have for the land? A. Any plans for
the available land will be to support the football club
by generating additional revenue streams.
4. Q. Does he want to build on the land? A. See above
5. Q. Why is Keith doing this? How is he expecting to get
any return for his money? A. Keith is a businessman
interested in football and has identified strong
opportunities for growth at Nene Park by capitalising on
better utilisation of the clubs excellent
facilities.
6. Q. Who is the new Manager and has Keith approved? A. Keith will be
appointing his own manager shortly!
7. Q. Assuming that Keith and his nominees will hold the
power, how will he balance our need to survive with our
community aspirations? A. We are a community club and we
will continue to be so. The Trust will be an integral
part of Rushden and Diamonds and will also have two
directors on the football club executive committee.
Equally the volunteers will still be needed to run the
club and continue the excellent work they have been doing
for the last two years and beyond.
8. Q. What guarantees exist regarding maintaining the
future of football at Nene Park? A. The deal has
been structured around ensuring football is played at
Nene Park. Indeed the ambition is to get the club back
into The Football League.
9. Q. Will any of the present people running the Club
still be involved? Who and in what roles? A. The existing
football club directors will resign their positions on
the football club board. The Trust will nominate two
representatives to an executive committee of the club.
10. Q. On the playing front, are you going to bring in
players that can get us out of the Nationwide Conference?
A. We
will be looking at providing additional playing resources
to help the club progress towards the league.
11. Q. Will my Season ticket still be valid? A. Yes. Your season
ticket is valid all season and we very much hope you will
be eager to purchase one for next year as well!
12. Q. Who will set the season ticket prices? A. This will be a
matter for the board as we prepare our business plan for
next season.
13. Q. Is the aim to get back into the League and move
upwards? A. Absolutely. This club has all the
ingredients to become a successful League club. When we
look at the facilities here we dont think we will
have any problems attracting quality players.
14. Q. Will there be a vote? A. Not in terms of running the
football club. It is, however, intended to offer a vote
to all eligible Trust members on some of the details
surrounding the deal.
15. Q. Does the deal affect the Sports and Exhibition
Centre? A. Not really. A third party owns the Centre
and the club currently rents some of its facilities that
may or may not continue.
Sponsors/
Corporate Guests
1. Q. Will you be honouring our contract? A. Yes, without a
doubt. Indeed we will be looking to extend your
involvement in future years.
2. Q. Will my box still be available? A. Yes, no changes
are planned; you have purchased your box for the season
and that remains the same. We really hope you will be
able to continue to support the team in this way for many
seasons to come.
3. Q. Will I be paying more for my box next season? A. Like all prices,
including season tickets, this will be decided when we
set our business plan for next season. We will however,
strive to give you an excellent package that is real
value to you as sponsors.
4. Q. Will the catering improve? A. There is clearly
a feeling that the current quality of catering is not
good enough. We will be discussing this with the
contractors as a matter of urgency.
5. Q.I have never taken up corporate hospitality before;
will there be opportunities to do so? A. Yes please. We
will be very pleased to provide you with a superb
corporate hospitality package for both you and your
guests for the rest of this season.
6. Q. Ive booked my works Christmas party at Nene
Park, will this go ahead? A. We can see no reason why this
will not be the case. Indeed we would hope that you will
return to watch the football in the future.
