Travel
arrangements for home matches for the coming season have
now been reviewed, the coaches run to Nene Park last
season required over £3,000 worth of subsidy from the
Supporters Trust. It has therefore been decided with the
club that this season it will run one coach and one
minibus on the existing Rushden, Higham Ferrers route,
but will no longer be operating a coach on the
Wellingborough via Finedon route.
As well as the excellent public bus service to Nene Park
any fans requiring transport from Wellingborough or
Finedon can contact the Trust Office, as alternative
arrangements may be possible.
Further details of the Northamptonshire Stagecoach
service from Wellingborough to Irthlingborough can be found here.
The coaches leave Hayden Road at 1:45pm or 6:30pm
depending on the kick off time, then pick up at Rushden
Lightstrung, The Viking Public House, The Welcome Inn
Public House, The Oakley Arms Public House, St Peters
Church, The Toll Bar (Higham Ferrers) and Simpson Avenue
(Higham Ferrers) before arriving at Nene Park, the
coaches will then depart on the return journey 15 minutes
after the final whistle.
The fare is a flat rate £4.00 return, however a new
Coach Season Ticket is available to all Trust members
from the club Ticket Office for all home Blue Square
Premier, FA Cup, and FA trophy matches, which offers a
substantial saving at only £90 (for a minimum of 26
matches). Full details are available by contacting the
Ticket Office on 01933 652936.
It is hoped as many supporters as possible will do their
bit to help the environment and avoid the traffic queues
by using the coach service.
Warren Barber from the Supporters Trust Board said,
The new season looks like being another exciting
part of our future development as we aim to return to
league football. The Clubs new owner is continuing
the rebuilding of our financial position, bringing in new
players and old favourites! We now have new sponsors and
together with our new caterers and dedicated fans we are
all really looking forward to the first pre-season home
game against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday 18th July at
7:30pm.
